Fall Family FUN Day

A couple of weeks ago, just before my computer hiatus, we reserved a Wednesday with gorgeous weather as fall family fun day.  Scott took the day off work and it was a day filled with as much fun for everyone as we could possibly fit in.

That morning Scott took Jaden and Sienna on a field trip with our preschool parents group to see the Metro Health life flight helicopter.  I stayed home to allow Bristol to nap and used my quiet time to make pizza muffins for everyone to eat for lunch.

We ate our delicious lunch as soon as Scott and the big girls got home, then loaded up and headed to a beautiful nearby farm that has the best selection of pumpkins in our area.  It was the third year we ventured there for some autumn photos and to choose pumpkins.  This time we enjoyed their corn maze and shopped in the farmers market there as well!

{I always get a kick out of the decorated pumpkins because my Grandma Coupland used to paint pumpkins and sell them with her best friend Pauline--I have many childhood photos with Grandma's pumpkin creations!}

After a successful trip at the farm we went home to let Bristol take another nap while her big sisters watched a couple of shows on TV to relax.  I intended on relaxing during that time, but instead had to head to Best Buy because my SLR camera endured an injury at the pumpkin patch--the on/off switch broke right off!  Oops!

Once everyone was well-rested we packed up again and headed to the nearby railroad that runs straight through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  We loaded up the family for a short ride to dinner!

The train ride was a surprise to the girls and they loved it.  We knew it would be a hit for them!

We rode to just the next stop and then got out to eat at a restaurant in a quaint nearby town.  Not only was it Bristol's first train ride, but also her first time riding on Daddy's back in the baby backpack and then her first time sitting in a restaurant high chair.  My baby girl is getting so big!

 

We had a delicious meal and then let the kids run around before boarding the train back to the station near our home.  Don't worry, the tracks they were posing on here are only used for trains entering and exiting the railway :)

Overall, it was a great day for each of us and a day full of firsts and memories for all.  We all slept well that night after such a busy day and dreamt of the next family fun day we'll get to share :)
