Helicopter Egg Drop
On Saturday we took a family trip to Longwood Park near our home for a huge event put on by our church--a helicopter egg drop! To clarify, there was a large field with 3000 candy-filled eggs in it, and then a helicopter was set up to drop 3000 additional eggs for the kiddos to run after. Our church planned the event along with Chick-fil-A (can't get much better than two of my favorite places working together on a single event!!) and it was a mega-success. Approximately 700 people were expected to show up, and a whopping 6000-8000 were estimated to be there!! It was so packed, but so much fun. I have to admit, it was a bit wet and we all got muddy, but it was worthwhile. Our girls got a few eggs and most of all enjoyed seeing the helicopter come really low to the ground to drop them. Next year our church is talking about dropping 20,000 eggs--whoa! Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what our fun Saturday entailed...
