Sabre Meet Up & Weekend Fun with Friends
We had another amazing weekend. This past weekend we hosted friends for a night and are so grateful that we are able to share once again our favorite place in Ohio with them. They came once two years ago and we were excited for them to come back because they're older girls are even older and now they have a new baby :)
Then we had talked about it but there was this Sabre meet up on Kelly's island so my father-in-law took everyone on his big boat to the festivities. Sabre is the brand of boat my FIL has and the dealer hosted this fun way to gather everyone on Lake Erie!
I guess that there were different functions for Sabre owners all day and what we went to was a cook out that night. This cookout totally blew any expectations we all had because the food was absolutely extraordinary! There was grilled chicken, kebabs of vegetables, and corn on the cob that was cooking in a giant smoker type of grill. There were other sides, drinks and decadent desserts to enjoy! After dinner there was a little trivia game involving Sabre's and the children had a giant field to run around and with water on either side. What a beautiful playground it was for them, and for us parent's watching! They were doing gymnastics, playing games and showing us tricks. It was just like when we were kids! We had no idea what to expect from this, but the dinner was amazing!!
Before long it was time to head back home on my father-in-law's boat. We got a group picture before we left and then got to enjoy the sunset the entire way back!!
And it's become kind of a tradition that every time we take people out on the boat we get a picture with the house / lighthouse/ development in the background. So even though the lake had become rocky and it was almost dark we managed a great picture!
And of course I had to take some pictures of the house since I hadn't taken any of my own in almost 2 years!

To say that everyone had a fun day would be an understatement. We had swam, kayaked, gone to the beach across the water from the house, boated to Kelly's island, had dinner and watched as the girls played. It was no surprise that the next morning our girls slept over an hour later than they ever do because they'd had so much fun all day the day before (and had gone to bed later than normal too!). What a nice time with great friends and family!
