A Throwback Thursday of Sorts

A few weeks ago my mom came to visit for a week. It was just the girls a cousin of theirs that she pride and my mom. It was absolute bliss because it was nice most days that week and my mom brought so many great activities for the kids to do when it was too early to go to the pool, rained, when I was working out, and after dinner.

On the first morning she was here I couldn't help but chuckle a little because by the pool she had Sienna and Bristol singing a new song (to them) and doingmotions  to it. They thought it was the greatest thing ever!

I heard they took any pictures the whole week because all I did was focus on relaxing. We did manicures, had lunch one day at Jimmy John's, swam a lot, watched some baby birds grow (more about that tomorrow!), and the girls did many crafts!! Then late that week we ventured to Put In Bay. My friend Melissa had invited us up to stay with her for a night at her beautiful home and so we all went!

The first day we got there we rented a golf cart, met up with Melissa and her children, went to the playground, out to dinner, and to the island candy store. The  kiddos were all in heaven!

They went to bed that night after watching a movie on Melissa and her husband's huge TV and having popcorn. They thought they were in a comfy movie theater!

The next morning we were all up bright and early and ready for another adventure on PIB.

 

We had never been to this place but we have heard about it and decided with Melissa's recommendation that it would be fun for the kids. It was like a Family Fun Center, Island style, and the first thing the kids got to do was "mine" for gems. They all thought it was the greatest thing and cannot wait to go back and do it again! I have to admit, it was a pretty interesting and fun activity!

 

Next, the kids ran through a maze at the center. They were having a blast with their friends, Melissa's kids!

 

Our last stop on the fun part of this adventure was to the winery on the island. The kids drink fresh grape juice and they thought it was the best thing ever. Never too young to experience Heinemann's winery! Ha!! 

Finally we had lunch at an island favorite called the gut. We introduced my mom to fresh lake caught perch tacos and she loved them. Melissa's daughter taught my girls all about ordering a Shirley Temple and how to request five cherries with it. Ha!! They thought they had liquid candy. After lunch, it was time to say goodbye but we had enjoyed the day at the island tremendously!

The night we got home we took my mom out for ice cream at Toft's dairy to celebrate her birthday which was the following week! We surprised her with a card, some gifts and the girls were all set to sing Happy Birthday.

The next morning Grammy got to slam with her girls and then she had to leave. We were so sad because it has been such a wonderful week! She had brought so many fun, new activities for them to do and they just love being around there silly Grammy--she knows how to entertain them on the fly which is quite a gift! We can be waiting to eat or anything and she has a song or game or other activity up her sleeve ready to go!

We loved our week mom and wish you could have stayed longer!!
