The Coldest Day of the Year
In an effort to catch you all up on our December activities, this weekend I'm going to post a little about a few things we did with the kiddos :)
On Thursday December 10, we were scheduled to go to a place called Lake Farm Park for their Country Lights exhibit. We went last year and had a wonderful time, so we were sure it would be enjoyable again this year. Lake Farm Park is a huge farm with animals who live there year round for families to see. At Christmastime they fill their land with displays of lights and you can buy tickets for a horse and carriage ride through the lights. There are also many other things to do indoors while there including a Santa's workshop with elves who help the children build and paint a wooden toy, a cow milking show, Santa who you can visit with on his sleigh and a train room with a beautiful, large display of working model trains.
Well this year when we got up on December 10th, we had a little problem: It was the COLDEST day of the year! How were we to go on a carriage ride outdoors when it was only 17 degrees out with a significant wind chill (10 degrees below zero or so)?!?!
We decided to go anyway to Lake Farm Park, but we skipped the outdoor part and just drove with our car through the parking lot lights for the girls to see. We had a fun time doing the indoor activities, especially the toy building with the elves. We had a nice visit with Santa too and Jaden told him she'd like some more dress up clothes while Sienna asked for baby dolls. Overall, despite the frigid cold and fierce winds, it was a great time of family togetherness!

(P.S. Right after seeing this photo of my hair, I decided I'm done having it all one length and two days later I cut layers into it!! Photos to come soon :) )
