The Incurables
Last Saturday Scott shuffled myself and the kids out a little early on our way to a birthday party for one of Jaden's friends, and he did so for good reason. My hubby is going to be a TV star! Well, that's the biggest exaggeration of the century, but he, his family, and most importantly his mom are going to be featured on national television on a show called The Incurables. It is a show which showcases true stories of individuals with illnesses, diseases and life-threatening conditions who have been healed. Scott's mom and my mother-in-law, Janet Vitt-Sommer was diagnosed with Lung Cancer that had spread throughout her body in April of 1995, 14 years ago. About a year later, she considered herself a surviver, so this April marks hear anniversary as a 13-year cancer surviver!
The Incurables approached Jan to do a show on her battle and defeat of cancer, and last Saturday the host and camera crew taped portions of the show involving Scott at our home. A considerable amount of time has been spent interviewing Jan for her show and taping her cooking macrobiotic dishes (following a strict macrobiotic diet cured her!). We cannot wait to see what the producers come up with in the end!
If you know of someone who has cancer and who would like to seek alternatives to chemotherapy and radiation, let me know and I will pass your information onto my mother-in-law. She is now a macrobiotic counselor, trained and certified by the Kushi Institute, and spends her life now helping others who are in situations like the one she survived. She is a wonderful person, a fantastic grandma to my children and a most thoughtful and caring mom and mother-in-law. I would recommend her to anyone who could use some help and guidance through the scary cancer diagnosis!
