Little Fashionista on the Down Low: Focus on Accessories!

Hello there blog world :) Today I am honored and excited to share my thoughts on accessorizing your little fashionistas. As the mother of three little girls and the owner of B's Bows, accessories are my favorite way to dress up an outfit, to turn plain into pretty and to put the finishing touches on a beautiful ensemble.

My grandmother (who reads Vogue regularly and is the most fashionable member of my family!) always said that we should have a wardrobe full of basics and then update our accessories each season.  I not only love this advice for adults, but also for children.  Sometimes the most adorable outfits are those that start with a plain top and bottom and then the accessories really make the outfit POP!

Accessories can also turn an outfit made from inexpensive pieces into a pretty ensemble by pulling it all together.  I have several loyal customers who shop consignment sales, whose children are blessed with hand-me-downs from older siblings or cousins or who buy basic pieces from inexpensive stores our boutiques and then have me sew hair accessories to match.  Accessories can polish and update an outfit and make it look new again.  Even the most inexpensive of outfits can adorable and put together with the right accessories to match!

Finally, accessories can be used to complete the already perfect outfit.  Whether it be for a special occasion, professional photographs or a holiday, if you are splurging on a nice outfit for your child(ren), consider how complete the look will be once adding coordinating accessories.  A large portion of my business comes from custom orders such as those featured in these photographs.  Without the accessories, the children and their outfits would still be gorgeous, but their looks would be unfinished.  Accessories add the final touch :)
